package includes lodging at historic McMenamins Edgefield, a
favorite gathering place for locals and travelers, families
and friends. Close to Portland but worlds away from hustle
and bustle, this 38-acre turn-of-the-century estate is host
to restaurants, winery, brewery, golf course, gardens,
hallways of art, and much more.

Destination Wilderness & McMenamins
Edgefield invite you to experience Oregon's great outdoors
and rich culture. If you are seeking an unforgettable
Northwest adventure then this package is for you! This
two-day, two-night vacation features playful whitewater
rafting in the heart of the Cascade Mountains, handcrafted
ales, fly fishing instruction along a forested stream,
delicious hearty meals, and European-style lodging at a
38-acre historic estate.
The
Rafting
On day one, you'll be riding the rapids of the upper
Clackamas River, renown for its clear mountain water and
beautiful alpine scenery. Led by friendly, professional
guides, this is an ideal trip for first-timers and veteran
rafters alike.
The
Drafting
Kick back and relax while tasting a variety of handcrafted
ales from McMenamins microbrewery. Sample favorites such as
Terminator Stout, Hammerhead and Ruby Ale.
The
Casting
Day two begins with fly fishing lessons and information on
casting, knot-tying and gear. Practice your techniques in
the morning and, once you have the knack, you and your
expert fly fishing guide will head to the river bank to test
your skills. We practice catch and release techniques, so
bring your camera along to prove you caught one.
The
Dining and Unwinding
McMenamins Edgefield sits peacefully amidst
gardens, vineyards and a groomed pitch-n-putt course. A
popular resting place for locals and travelers, Edgefield is
located just 20 minutes from the Portland airport, but
worlds away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The
estate features an historic lodge, restaurants, winery,
distillery, brewery, golf course, gardens, massage and more.
Guests are invited to explore the many art galleries
throughout the property.
The Rates
$345 to $385 per person depending on the overall number of
participants. Price includes two nights lodging, breakfast
and lunch both days, dinner one evening, rafting, microbrew
tasting, fly fishing, all specialty gear, guides, and
shuttles for the activities. Minimum age for participants is
21 (12 if accompanied by an adult). Add 12.45% county room
tax to packages. Reservations require a deposit.
Cancellations must be made at least 30 days before arrival
date to avoid a cancellation fee.

Clackamas River
Rafting: Whitewater Fun in the Sun!
Every
week throughout the summer McMenamins Edgefield and
Destination Wilderness offer a lodging and rafting package
featuring a full day of rafting on the Clackamas River and
an overnight stay at historic Edgefield! The scenic and
playful Clackamas River is ideal for those wanting to paddle
energizing rapids and float through scenic calms in the
secluded Mt. Hood foothills. With an abundance of dancing
rapids and talented, friendly and professional guides, the
Clackamas trip is well suited for first timers, families,
mature travelers, and veteran rafters alike.
Trips are
offered weekly throughout the summer, with lodging and
dinner at McMenamins Edgefield on Wednesday followed by
rafting on Thursday. In addition to these weekly scheduled
trips we offer custom charter trips for groups of six or
more. Please contact Destination Wilderness for details. We
also offer Clackamas river trips every day of the week. For

per adult; $119 per youth (under 16). Includes dinner,
