Trekking Trips

Try to pack light, although we are staying in comfortable cottages and huts, we move around a fair bit amount. You should also have relatively light day/rain gear that will fit in a regular size backpack. A waterproof cover for your pack is also a nice option.

 Day Set:
  • Wool or synthetic fleece sweater
  • 3-4 pairs of wool socks
  • 1 hat for rain and sun protection (w/bill)
  • Sungalsses w/retention devices
  • Sturdy, waterproof hiking boots
  • 1 set synthetic long underwear
  • 1 pair of shorts
  • Waterproof rain jacket and pants
  • Insulated down or synthetic jacket
  • Sunscreen and lip block
  • Medium sized rucksack
  • Fleece or wool pants
  • Insect repellent
  • Gaitors
 Night Set:
  • Lightweight sleeping bag and pad
  • 1 synthetic or wool sweater
  • 1 rain or waterproof jacket
  • 1 pair long pants
  • 1 heavy sweater or jacket
  • 1 long sleeved shirt
  • 1 pair shoes
  • Underwear and socks
  • Flashlight or headlamp and batteries
  • 1 small towel and toilet kit
  • Large ziplock bags for organizing gear
  • Gloves
 Optional:

Please feel free to bring the following items:

  • Reading material
  • Camera and film
  • Journal/notebook
  • Small fanny pack
  • Binoculars
