Destination Wilderness employs guides who understand that
our guests come first. We are an outfit that fosters comeraderie and
participation with our guests and, in doing so, work very, very hard to meet
their wants and needs. We do not seek and do not hire guides who find rewards
in being the biggest whitewater dude on the river. We do hire guides who are
happiest working in a positive, ego-free environment that focuses on team and
rewards self-motivation.
If you have experience as a river guide please
skip to the next paragraph. If you do not have experience as a river guide and
want to work for an outfit like ours we suggest considering attending our
River Guide
School. While attending the school does not guarantee you a job as a
rafting guide it is an excellent step towards becoming a guide. And, the vast,
vast majority of the people who attend our schools seeking work as a
professional guide are hired, either by us or other outfits.
If you have
experience as a guide or feel that you are qualified to become one and this
sounds like your idea of a good place to work we would love to hear from you!
We invite to you contact us and submit an application as follows:
1)
Email or mail a cover letter and resume. Please do not call first to ask if we
have openings. For the right people, we always have openings.
2) In your cover letter please answer this
question: What are the three most important reasons for guiding?
3)
After a few days and within two weeks of sending us your resume and cover
letter (and if you have not heard from us already) please call and ask for
Sam or Ken. Explain to whomever answers that you have mailed in a resume and
are interested in working for us. If neither is in at that time leave your name
and phone number and you will get a call back within two days.
4)
During this phone conversation we look forward to finding out a lot more about
you and to share with you our needs. From there we will discuss exact work
options you may have with Destination Wilderness.
Thanks in advance for
contacting us for employment opportunities. |
