Cancellations/Transfers Cancellations
Prior to the Balance Due Date: If payment in full is not received by
the balance due date we can regard your reservation as canceled. In this case,
or if you cancel before the balance due date, a $25 per person cancellation fee
for half and full day trips; a $150 per person cancellation fee for overnight
and multi-day domestic trips; and a $250 per person cancellation fee for
international, Alaska and Hawaii trips will be charged, or we may keep the full
deposit.
Cancellations After the Balance Due Date: There
are no refunds issued for any trips canceled after the balance due date.
For all half and full day trips: If you cancel 14 days or more
before your trip and after the balance due date no refunds will be issued but
we will issue you a credit for a future trip for the amount you have paid, less
the $25 per person cancellation fee. If if you cancel within 14 days of your
trip date no refunds will be issued and a credit will be issued only if we can
fill your spaces. This credit will be issued for the amount you have paid, less
the cancellation fee.
For all overnight or multi-day trips: If
you cancel after the balance due date no refunds will be issued and a credit
for a future trip will be issued only if we are able to fill your space. This
credit will be issued in this case for the amount you have paid, less the
cancellation fee. You are welcome to find a replacement for yourself. You may
transfer your reservation to another trip during the same year for a $25 per
person transfer fee provided you do so before the balance due date. There are
typically no exceptions to any portion of this cancellation policy.
Trip Cancellation Insurance: On all trips with a cost of $1,000
or more we automatically include and charge you for trip cancellation
insurance. This insurance can protect you against loss of luggage, unforeseen
trip cancellations, and other travel-related costs. The cost of this is based
on the trip price and participant¹s age. If you do not want trip
cancellation insurance please let us know within ten days of your deposit
payment. We highly recommend that all participants have cancellation insurance.
Performance It is sometimes necessary to
cancel or modify a trip. Therefore, we reserve the right to cancel or make
changes to a trip if necessary due to weather conditions, changes in water
levels, insufficient reservations, or other circumstances beyond our control.
In these cases, we are only responsible for amounts actually paid to
Destination Wilderness for services we provide, and not for any other costs
incurred by the trip member. Guides and other trip personnel are not authorized
to make or promise trip refunds or credits.
